How much homework should my child be doing?
Expectations for homework time:
Year 7 - 8 (20 to 30 minutes per piece of homework.)
Year 9 (40 minutes per piece of homework.)
Year 10 – 11 (45 minutes to 1 hour per piece of homework.)
Schedule for homework.
Key Stage 3
Core subjects English, Maths and Science will set one piece of homework every week.
History, Geography and MFL will set one piece of homework every two weeks.
Art, Music, Technology and Food will set one piece of homework every three weeks.
Key Stage 4.
Core subjects English, Maths and Science will set one piece of homework every week.
All option subjects will set one piece of homework every week.
Any issues with homework should be brought up with your child’s subject teacher and then the head of subject if necessary.
The Academy utilises an online programme called ‘Go4Schools’, where you can see what homework has been set for your child. Every parent will be issued a log-in to their child’s account. If you need your log-in details please contact data@kla.eastern-mat.co.uk
