Course outline/overview:
Key Stage 3
Throughout Year 7 and 8 students will follow a thematic approach to science. This is designed to develop investigative skills and relate the subject to everyday life. They should develop the intellectual and practical skills that would enable them to explore the world of science so as to gain an understanding of scientific phenomena and the procedures of scientific exploration and investigation.
Students will also develop their knowledge and understanding within the following areas.
- Living Organisms and Life Processes, Materials and Their Uses, Physical Processes
- Assessment will be both continuous and at the end of each topic
- Students in Year 9 will be starting KS4 courses as a combined BTEC/GCSE study program.
