Time Credits are a form of community currency that can be used to improve local areas by encouraging people to take an active role in their community. Time Credits are a way of ‘thanking’ people for any time they choose to give.
For every hour of time an individual gives to a selected activity, project or event they will receive one Time Credit which can be used to access a variety of different services or activities within the local community.
You can currently spend your Time Credits at Denver Golf, Denver Mills, (North Lynn) Discovery Centre, Hunstanton Community Centre, KLFR, Downham Netball Club, Do Something Different courses, Downham Market Leisure Centre, Leisure Card, Hunstanton’s Resort Services*, Leziate Park*, Strikes, (King’s Lynn’s) Corn Exchange, Tales of the Old Gaol House*, KES Community Tennis Centre, St James’ Swimming & Fitness Centre, the College of West Anglia Hair & Beauty Training Department, Oasis Sports & Leisure Centre, Lynnsport & Leisure Park, Norfolk Arena and King’s Lynn Town Football Club (* seasonal).
The scheme, which has already been successfully implement in Wales, is being rolled out locally by the West Norfolk Partnership in collaboration with Welsh-based charity Spice to encourage local people to get involved and give something back to their community.
Through the Academy’s Learning Catalyst programme pupils, parents and families from the local community connected to the King’s Lynn Academy have the opportunity to be some of the first in England to be part of this new reward and recognition scheme. To date, 5,055 hours have been given by West Norfolk residents and so to find out more or to offer your time to the programme please contact to Mrs Holland.
