Premises Management Team

Firstly let me introduce myself and my team to you. 

My name is Trevor Hewitt; I am the Premises Manager here at the K.L.A.  My Site officer is Sharon Green, and I have two Deputy Site Officers, Steve Kelly and Bob Bramham. Also within our team are the team of Housekeepers, responsible for keeping the Academy clean, this being headed by the Housekeeping supervisor, Lesley Flanagan.  Our overall inline manager is Mr Alan Evans I myself have a long link with the site. From 1956 to 1960 I was a pupil here at the then Gaywood Park Comprehensive School. On leaving school I went into the building trade as a Painter & Decorator, finding myself on many occasions working on the school. It was on one of these occasions when I was painting within the school that I was asked if I would like to try for the position of Head caretaker. That was some 20 years back. Sharon has also been working here on the site for some 12 years, starting as a cleaner, and working her way up to her present position. Sharon was also an ex pupil of the Gaywood Park School. Steve and Bob have only recently started with us here at the Academy and are settling in very well.

Our duties are many and interestingly varied throughout the Academy year. To name but a few of these responsibilities, all the many different  aspects of H&S ; fire drills, checking and  maintaining the fire extinguishers, weekly and monthly checks for Legionella and lots more to ensure the Academy site is a safe environment for pupils and staff. We are also responsible for the general repairs and maintenance within the Academy. In the evenings and weekends we have lots of clubs and members of the community coming into the Academy to use our many facilities; this again is managed by the Premises team.
