Capital Build Project

The buliding has begun!

The Start of the New Build was celebrated with a Ceremony. Special guests included the Mayor of King's Lynn, David Pomfret The Principal of the College of west Anglia, Local primary school headteachers and local businesses. To view the images of the ceremony, please click here.

King’s Lynn Academy has been awarded £10.5m by the Department for Education to improve the quality of its buildings.  The investment will allow for significant investment in the existing buildings, allowing for a more modern and innovative approach to teaching and learning than is available anywhere in King’s Lynn.  ICT facilities will be improved and the Academy will be able to further develop its specialism in Business and Enterprise as an integral part of the curriculum.

It is hoped that building work will start in March 2012.  During the recent months, the Academy together with its sponsors the College of West Anglia and Norfolk County Council have been developing plans for the Academy.  A final design will be agreed with the next two weeks and will be available for the public to see at the offices of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council on Wednesday 19th October 2011.  This will take the form of an exhibition displaying drawings and other useful information, together with the opportunity to ask questions and leave comments and suggestions for consideration.
