Great kick off for Enterprise Society this week! Students who attended talked about the qualities a successful entrepreneur needs and the kind of skills and attitude it takes to run your own business, and then went on to create presentations around these themes. This year, Enterprise Society will be focusing on different themes during the academic year and creating and selling products around these themes. The first is Halloween where they will have a market place before we break up for half term, so keep an eye out for updates on products they will be selling as part of that! We had a great night on Wednesday at Open Evening with many of our fantastic student commissioners assisting with a range of fun enterprise activities at open evening. These included an Ambition Wall Passion challenge, Business in a Box creativity challenge and problem solving riddles!
Today, over 35 of our Year 10 and 11 students attended a career talk delivered by 2 guest speakers, Will Lawes and Ben Stocks. Will is a senior partner at Freshfields Law Firm in London, who employ over 1600 people and Ben is CEO of Porvair. As well as a fascinating insight to both careers, the speakers remarked on the enterprise skills our students are rewarded for and how important they are in any employment sector. They left the students with the message that the most important thing is to be prepared to work hard in order to be successful! A great message to end the week with! I hope the students found it interesting and have been inspired for their future choices! A group of students chatted further with the speakers for a good 20 minutes after the talk which was great to see!
All who attended were a credit to the Kings Lynn Academy! Well Done!
